5th May 2011Dragon Boat Racing Fund Raising Event
On 21st and 22nd May, Moving Forward will be entering a team of 20 disabled and able bodied
volunteers to compete in the annual Dragon Boat Racing event at IBM HQ lake in Cosham and
raise funds for Moving Forward.

5th May 2011Uncertain future for the Disablement Services Centre
On 22nd February 2010 NHS Portsmouth and NHS Hampshire both served notice to Portsmouth Hospitals
NHS Trust (PHT) to terminate the contract for wheelchair services, orthotics and prosthetics as
from 1st April 2011; services which are currently delivered at the Disablement Services Centre.
All three services were included as they are funded through a single block budget. Moving
Forward is working with the Primary Care Trusts (NHS Portsmouth and NHS Hampshire) and PHT to
ensure there is a smooth transition and that patient care is not compromised. Read more »
24 August 2010£1,669 fund raising boost
The Fareham office of Zurich raised £834.50 which Zurich Community Trust UK Ltd matched to make a
grand total of £1,669. The funds will be used to purchase a treadmill for the physiotherapy
department at the Disablement Services Centre. Read more »
24 August 2010Amputee Games medals galore for the Portsmouth team
9 amputees from the DSC took part in the 2010 Amputee Games at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium on 14th
and 15th August 2010. The team took part in 13 different sports and came away with a clutch of
