Prosthetics
The Disablement Services Centre at St Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth, provides
a regional artificial limb service to people living in Hampshire, Portsmouth,
Southampton and some areas of West Sussex. It is one over 40 such centres
across the UK. Prosthetic clinics run from Monday to Friday all year round
with an emergency service operating over the Christmas week. They are run
for both adults and children who can be either upper or lower limb amputees
or both.
Fitting Rooms
Fitting rooms are provided for men and women. There is also a fitting room
specifically for younger patients. As well as a walking area, the room has
a sitting and play area with toys, books, television and a selection of DVDs
for children and parents.
